“I decided in early 2017, when I was 51, to start learning the saxophone as an older student, bearing in mind that I had never done any music before as a child or at school etc. Some people thought it was for younger people, maybe a bit of joke at my age but I went for it and regret nothing about it and actually enjoy the learning process – even the homework.
For novices like me at that time, it certainly is a big one trying to learn to read music , learn the instrument, and playing all at the same time. Bethany does have the teaching style to make you feel calm and relaxed, which is very important as student. Her teaching is well balanced for the student so is never boring. I never thought I would be at the stage I am now nearly 2 years later, which must be testament to Bethany as a outstanding teacher. Could not recommend her highly enough top marks.” PETER MILLARD
“As an adult beginner clarinetist looking for a music teacher, one of the most important elements for me was to find someone who was able to instruct in such a way that lessons remained fun yet focused. Bethany has successfully proven that this fine balance of teaching skills is one of her fortes, bringing both her charming personality and incredible dedication to teaching to the forefront of every lesson. I cannot recommend her enough.” MICHAEL AZZOPARDI
“Bethany’s friendly and patient style makes her an excellent teacher. Our daughter has learnt so much and we are delighted with her progress.” SUE DABORN
“I have really enjoyed learning the clarinet with Bethany and have been amazed at how quickly I have progressed. She is full of useful and practical tips that have helped me improve my playing technique when I have found it difficult. She makes the lessons and practice at home interesting and challenging by choosing a variety of pieces to play, of different styles and focusing on different techniques. I would highly recommend her to anyone wishing to learn the clarinet as an adult.” SARAH GOVIND
